AgCAREERSTART is a pilot program supported by funding from the Commonwealth of Australia to actively engage and develop the next generation of agricultural workers through an on-farm gap year experience. The ‘high-touch’ structured employment program has been designed and delivered by the National Farmers Federation (NFF) and facilitates the employment of 200 young Australian’s in farm businesses across Australia in a variety of production sectors.
agdots was engaged by AgriFutures in November 2023 to deliver Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Learning (MERL) for intakes 2 and 3 of the AgCAREERSTART program (2023-2024). agdots undertook a review of the existing MERL with AgriFutures and NFF and in response, developed a new fit-for-purpose framework. Designed with support from Economic specialist, Econisis, MERL Stage 2 is an indicators against outcomes model. The ultimate intention of the AgCAREERSTART (and the associated industry, economic and or behavioural change being sought) is represented and analysed through a comprehensive set of data indicators that align to each level of the program logic.
agdots with support from Econisis is currently in the implementation phase of this project.
